What to expect when you come to the Family Chiropractic Center:

Consultation and Complete History:

Dr. Myshka will sit down with you one on one and go over your complete health history. Knowing your complete medical history helps us give you the best possible care. Here's why:

Full Spine X-rays:

In our office we take 14 x 36 full spine x-rays, showing the neck, mid back, low back and the pelvis area from the front and side. We'll ask you to stand while we take these x-rays. Weight-bearing x-rays (x-rays taken while your spine is holding you up) show the true condition of the spine and discs. When you lie down, your bones and muscles are in different positions, and may not show the same kinds of stress you experience when you stand.

Neurological and Orthopedic Examination:

We perform a complete examination:

If a referral to another doctor is needed, we will let you know.

Written Report of Findings

All new patients receive a written report of findings at their second visit. Dr. Myshka will personally go over your exams and x-rays with you and explain them to you in detail. He will take the time for you to ask any questions that you may have. Dr. Myshka will then recommend a schedule of care that will not only manage or eliminate your pain, but will correct your spine if possible and help you maintain better health.

Specific Chiropractic Adjustments

Dr. Myshka specializes in gentle, specific spinal adjustments. He only adjusts the vertebras that are misaligned to remove nerve interference and allow the patient's body to heal itself.

At each visit Dr. Myshka will use a temperature measuring device or Temp-O-Scope to check your spine and to measure your progress.

Physical Therapy:

Physical therapy can assist your healing process after the spinal adjustment. Therapy is used to reduce swelling and increase joint movement. Dr. Myshka may also recommend intersegmental traction, cryotherapy (ice), or electric muscle stimulation.
